BACKGROUND:
The Ocala Utility Advisory Board advises and makes recommendations to City Council on matters relating to management of City-owned utilities, including Ocala Electric Utility and Ocala Water Resources.
The board consists of twelve members. Five board members' terms expire on November 4, 2026.
Four board members, John Blackstock, James “Allen” Curry, Sarah Greene, and Gregory Steen, have submitted applications for reappointment. Thomas Butler has also applied for one of these upcoming vacancies.
Mr. Blackstock would be reappointed as an electric residential customer; Mr. Curry as an electric commercial customer; Ms. Green as a water residential customer; Mr. Steen as an electric commercial customer; and Mr. Butler qualifies as an at-large member. Each would be appointed to new four-year terms ending November 4, 2030.
These appointments will allow the Utility Advisory Board to retain a quorum, with no vacancies.
