BACKGROUND:
The Florida Incident-Based Reporting System (FIBRS) is a statewide program standardizing crime data collection and analysis for law enforcement agencies. Because of the program success, an extension has been granted to allow for the remaining funds to be fully utilized, ensuring maximum benefit from the investment. This extension will enable the continued improvement of crime reporting and analysis capabilities, ultimately enhancing public safety and crime prevention efforts across Florida.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The grant project period is now February 15, 2022, through June 30, 2025. The grant extension will enable the full utilization of funds and facilitate the completion of ongoing projects, ensuring the continued enhancement of crime reporting and analysis capabilities in Florida.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact - no additional funds are required. The existing funds currently expensed from accounts 001-050-815-521-52-14010 and 001-050-815-521-52-40010.
