BACKGROUND:
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) contacted the City of Ocala and Ocala Fire Rescue to donate two drones. These drones have state-of-the-art thermal imaging technology that helps in challenging conditions such as low light or smoke-filled environments.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The donation of these drones will be valuable to our first responders in search and rescue efforts, firefighting, and other emergencies.

RESOLUTION 2025-21
TO ACCEPT THE DONATION OF TWO SKYDIO X2 THERMAL DRONES FROM THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL
Whereas, the Florida Highway Patrol contacted the City of Ocala, Ocala Fire Rescue to donate two drones; and
Whereas, the Florida Highway Patrol is donating these drones to Ocala Fire Rescue at no cost to help enhance emergency response capabilities.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, in regular session duly assembled that the City of Ocala, Ocala Fire Rescue, shall accept the donation of two Skydio X2 Thermal Drones from the Florida Highway Patrol.
