BACKGROUND:
The Ocala Municipal Arts Commission (Commission) serves in an advisory capacity to the City of Ocala on its artistic and cultural development and the aesthetic aspects of City activities.
The Commission has 11 members. Six of these members represent one of the following organizations: College of Central Florida's Visual and Performing Arts Department, Fine Arts for Ocala (FAFO), the Marion County School Board, the Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA), the Ocala Civic Theater, and the Ocala Symphony Orchestra. The remaining five members are members of the arts community at large.
At-large board members Jean Floten and Tito Comas resigned, leaving two vacancies. Council has received three applications: Michael Bray, Bradley Lacher, and Tasha Neasman. Council is requested to vote for two of these applicants to fill the vacancies.
