BACKGROUND:
Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) applied for and was awarded a grant from Firehouse Subs Safety Foundation, Inc. for the purchase of safety equipment.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
No matching funds are required. This grant will allow OFR to purchase safety equipment for firefighters when responding to specific types of calls. Ten ballistic vests, 20 steel plates, 10 helmets, 20 medical kit pouches, and 10 rifle mag pouches for bulletproof vests are being purchased. The purchase of this safety equipment will help protect our firefighters when responding to specific types of emergencies.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Firehouse Subs Safety Foundation, Inc. will reimburse the City of Ocala $13,132.80 to account 001-369-000-000-16-36934, grant expenses will be appropriated from account 001-051-949-522-52-52010. An accompanying budget resolution is provided on the same Council agenda.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These goods will be procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
