BACKGROUND:
Staff request approval to purchase Marion County Parcel # 29170-000-01, a half-acre parcel at the appraised value of $239,000. The parcel is in the Sherwood Forest Neighborhood on SE 18th Avenue and is owned by Mr. Brendan Ronald Hessler. This parcel has experienced occasional flooding in the past. The new drainage retention area will mitigate potential flooding in the surrounding area and provide additional drainage for the right of way.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Staff from the Engineering and Public Works Storm Water Divisions have reviewed the acquisition. Staff recommends approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for the acquisition of the property is available in account string 158-020-343-538-61-61010.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
The Procurement and Contracting Officer reviewed and approved this contract for sale and purchase to ensure compliance with the city’s procurement policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Agreement has been reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
