BACKGROUND:
The City of Ocala Facilities Management Department is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and preservation of the City's municipal facilities, including the inspection and upkeep of roofing systems. Maintaining these facilities is critical to protecting public assets, ensuring uninterrupted operations, and providing safe environments for employees and the public.
When roof systems remain structurally sound but begin showing signs of weathering, the City utilizes restoration coating systems as a cost-effective alternative to complete roof replacement.
To ensure consistent quality and manufacturer warranty eligibility, the City will furnish Inland Coatings roof restoration products utilizing a qualified State of Florida-licensed roofing contractor experienced in the installation of Inland Coatings manufacturer-approved systems. The Contractor will provide the labor, equipment, and installation services necessary to complete each project in accordance with manufacturer specifications, applicable building codes, and industry standards.
Roofing systems that are currently in need of restoration include the complex warehouse, the OFN administration building, the Sanitation building, the Discovery Science Center, the Fleet Light Vehicle Shop, and the Public Works building. Other roofing systems will be added as needed.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
