BACKGROUND:

On October 1, 2021, the City of Ocala and Pace Analytical Services, LLC (PACE) entered into an agreement for environmental water testing services, City of Ocala Contract No. WRS/210139 (the “Original Agreement”). Under this agreement, PACE provides all necessary materials, labor, and equipment for testing wastewater and drinking water for the Water Resources Department's Compliance Monitoring Division. The services will cover two wastewater treatment facilities, two water treatment facilities, and one water quality laboratory, as required by regulatory agencies.

The initial three-year contract term covers the period October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2024. On November 7, 2023, the City and PACE entered into a First Amendment to the Original Agreement to increase the total contract expenditure due to changes in federal and state testing requirements.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The Water Resources Department now desires to exercise the first of two one-year renewal terms available under the Original Agreement.  Additionally, the pricing schedule for the renewal term will be adjusted to reflect a 3.3 percent increase.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this contract will be budgeted for Fiscal Year 2024-25 in account 455-030-307-535-53-34010.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

LEGAL REVIEW:

This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
