BACKGROUND:
International HX620 tractors are specialized transport vehicles used primarily for moving heavy construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders. Their low deck height enables the safe and legal transport of oversized machinery that would otherwise exceed roadway height limitations. These vehicles are typically used to support municipal construction and infrastructure projects by ensuring that critical equipment can be efficiently transported to and from various job sites.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Unit #11-235, currently utilized by the Public Works Stormwater Division, is undersized and unable to safely transport large equipment necessary for ongoing and future projects. The limitations of the current unit have resulted in operational inefficiencies, which delay response times and project completion.
Fleet recommends the purchase of one 2026 International HX620 Tractor, utilizing Florida Sheriff's Association Agreement FSA23-VEH21 in the amount of $186,516. This purchase will align with the current and projected operational demands of the department.
As a political subdivision of the State of Florida, the City of Ocala qualifies as an eligible user of direct purchase contracts solicited and negotiated by the Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA). Agreement No.: FSA23-VEH21 was awarded by FSA for a contract term commencing October 1, 2023, and ending September 30, 2025.
