BACKGROUND:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reached out to Airport Staff requesting property for use as a temporary basecamp to help the community rapidly recover from various disasters. Staff located approximately 12 acres with good road access and flat terrain that would meet FDOT’s requirements.
The premises will be available and utilized by FDOT during a state of emergency declared by the Governor or the President for the limited purpose of establishing and operating base camp facilities. Base camp facilities include, without limitation, sleeping quarters, dining facilities, meeting rooms, communications equipment, latrines, showers, hand-washing stations, vehicle parking, and temporary storage of equipment, materials, and tools.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
• The property is adjacent to SW 67th Ave.
• A full complement of utilities is available at the property should FDOT require them.
• The area can only be used during declared states of emergency.
• The initial term is one year, followed by four mutually agreed-upon annual extensions.
• The Airport Board supports the use and location of the Airport property by FDOT.

None.

This Agreement has been reviewed by the Procurement and Contracting Officer in compliance with City policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
