BACKGROUND:

On May 5, 2020, the City of Ocala entered into a contract with Marcum Enterprises, LLC (Marcum) for annual sidewalk maintenance and repair services. The initial term of the contract was slated for two years and expires on May 5, 2022. Per the contract terms, there is a one-year renewal with a 3% increase that Marcum Enterprises has requested to be approved. If approved, the contract renewal will extend the contract to May 5, 2023.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Marcum Enterprises, LLC is a local contractor with excellent references. They have performed very well on City projects and have consistently produced a high quality of work. Staff has performed benchmarking of unit pricing and with the additional 3% increase Marcum will continue to remain the lowest price. Therefore, staff recommends approval of the one-year renewal option of the contract.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding will be budgeted in FY2023 in G/L 091-023-255-541-54-46010.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

The renewal is in compliance with the City’s procurement policy.

LEGAL REVIEW:

The renewal will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by the City Attorney, Robert Batsel, Jr.
