BACKGROUND:
Council approved the construction of the Ocala Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center on February 16, 2026. The project is in its early stages, and it was determined that engineering plans from the equipment vendor are needed to avoid delays and additional costs. The plans will ensure that construction is properly designed to accommodate the specialized equipment to be installed. The engineering plans will include the equipment layout and detail the necessary wiring and cabling for the project.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The Ocala Police Department must purchase the appropriate wiring and cabling needed for the specialized equipment to be installed in the Real Time Crime Center. Staff recommends approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Pending approval of the associated budget resolution, funding is expected to be available in the Infrastructure Sales Surtax-RTCC account (120-018-858-521-66-64010).
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These goods and services were procured in compliance with the City’s procurement policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
