BACKGROUND:
After a competitive solicitation, City Council awarded the contract for grounds maintenance services at parks and other facilities managed by the Recreations and Parks Department to Southern Lawn Care Mid Florida, Inc. ("Southern Lawn Care"), on March 7, 2023 (Contract No. REC/230068). The agreement was for an initial term of three years, from March 8, 2023, through March 7, 2026, and offered two optional one-year renewal terms.
On July 5, 2023, the City and Vendor entered into the First Amendment to the agreement in order to modify the locations to be maintained. On October 26, 2023, locations were again modified via the parties' Second Amendment to the agreement. On January 2, 2025, the parties entered into a Third Amendment to the agreement to include additional locations, adjust mowing frequencies, and increase the aggregate expenditure amount under the contract to $690,600. The Fourth Amendment, executed February 3, 2025, added additional locations and increased the expenditure threshold to $698,000.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Southern Lawn Care Mid Florida, Inc., has met all the requirements for the provision of ground maintenance services specified in City of Ocala Contract Number: REC/230068, from March 8, 2023, to present. The Recreation & Parks Department requests for the contract to be renewed for the first of two available renewal terms.
FISCAL IMPACT:
