BACKGROUND:
On Feb. 4, 2020, the City entered an interlocal agreement with Marion County to create the Ocala/Marion County Joint Office on Homelessness. The City entered into a separate Memorandum of Understanding with FL-514 Ocala/Marion County Continuum of Care (CoC) Board for the City to assume the duties and responsibilities of the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and Coordinated Entry System.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On August 29, 2023, via email, the City of Ocala's CoC U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) representative indicated the HMIS 2021 grant had been fully processed, the budget line items had been appropriated in the HUD financial reporting system, and the grant award letter had been requested from HUD Headquarters. On September 22, 2023, the City of Ocala received the HMIS 2021 Grant Award Letter. This agenda item is to appropriate the 2021 HMIS Grant funding that will offset related expenses incurred in the 2023 Fiscal Year in managing the Marion County CoC's Homeless Management Information System. Staff recommends approval.
