BACKGROUND:
The Recreation and Parks department operates recreation facilities that provide services associated with facility uses, rentals, special events, and programs. The Recreation and Parks Director recommends fees for City Council approval. Recreation fees are necessary to offset operational costs.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The adopted Fiscal Year 2025-26 Recreation and Parks Fee Schedule is being amended to better reflect the expenses involved in providing these services, as well as the benefit to the community of athletic programs. The attached Exhibit A contains, in red highlight, the changes to the adopted (current) fee schedule. The athletic field-youth sports annual registration fee per team was originally proposed to be eliminated for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The option to register annually has been reestablished with a proposed fee of $500.00. The proposed athletic field with lights per hour fee will be reduced from $45.00 to $25.00. The proposed field lights only per hour fee will be reduced from $25.00 to $15.00. The proposed athletic field per hour fee will be reduced from $20.00 to $10.00.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Recreation and Parks revenues are applied to the City's General Fund and other City revenue accounts.
