BACKGROUND:
The Engineering Department has been awarded grant funds from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to provide assistance for the Silver Springs Stormwater Nutrient Reduction Project for the City of Ocala retrofit abandonment of Nutrient Removing Filtration Systems(r) (NRFS(tm)).
This project consists of the abandonment of four (4) drainage wells:
* Drainage Well NW 1 & 2 Located at the 1100 BLK NW Fourth Ave. - (2) 8-inch Drainage Wells.
* Drainage Well NW 3 Located at 100 BLK NW Eighth St. - 8-inch Drainage Well; and
* Drainage Well SE 53 Located at 300 SE 11th Ave. - 8-inch Drainage Well.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
On January 24, 2022, the City of Ocala issued RFQ# CIP/220053 to abandon four drainage wells for the Ocala Nutrient Reduction Project. One lump sum bid was received on February 11, 2022, from A.C. Schultes of Florida, Inc. (A.C. Schultes):

A.C. Schultes is a contractor with a multitude of experience completing similar projects in the last five years for the City of Ocala. Staff has compared the bid to previous bids and the price is reasonable. Engineering recommends the approval of the contract in the amount of $61,500.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this contract has been budgeted in FY22 in account 158-020-358-538-69-65010 utilizing City of Ocala Stormwater Engineering funds.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
The contract has been reviewed and approved for compliance with the City's procurement policies.
