body

BACKGROUND:

Janitorial services are needed to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of 20 city-operated parks and facilities.  Daily and bi-weekly cleaning services are necessary for park restrooms, various centers, and auditoriums.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On February 17, 2022, the City issued a Diverse Small Business Enterprise (DSBE) program set aside RFQ# FAC/220112 for janitorial services of Recreation and Parks facilities.  The bid consists of a three-year contract with two optional, one-year renewals.  A total of four cleaning firms responded to the request and all were considered responsive and responsible bidders.  Pricing was evaluated and work was distributed between the four DSBE vendors.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this contract is appropriated and encumbered in the Facilities account 001-026-321-519-51-34010 (Other Services).  The total contract amount of $420,778 will be expensed annually.
