BACKGROUND:

On February 17, 2022, the City of Ocala (City) entered into Contract No. CIP/211092 with C.W. Contracting, Inc. (CWR) for the annual Parking Lot Improvement Program (PLIP). The initial term of the contract was two years with two additional one-year renewals that may be enacted with the possibility of a maximum 3 percent pricing increase at renewal. On April 1, 2024, the City renewed the PLIP contract with CWR for the first of two possible one-year renewals per the original contract terms (including a 3 percent pricing increase).

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

CWR has agreed to renew the contract for the final one-year renewal and has requested the maximum increase of 3 percent for this renewal. The renewal will extend the contract to February 16, 2026, if approved.

CWR is a local contractor with excellent references. They have performed well on City projects and consistently produced high-quality work.  Therefore, staff recommends approval of the final one-year renewal option of the contract.
