BACKGROUND:
The North Development Access Road project was recently completed, and the construction contract has been closed out. There is $530,314.39 remaining in the grant that funded the project. The City requested approval from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to utilize the remaining funds for the design and relocation of an FDOT drainage retention pond located adjacent to the new road.
Relocation of this pond is necessary to allow the future Phase Two extension of the North Development Access Road to continue eastward and ultimately connect to Southwest 60th Avenue.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
? There are no changes to the previously approved grant or required local match.
? The Airport Advisory Board supports the project.
? Timing for Phase Two of the road extension is dependent on future funding; however, staff anticipates construction could begin within the next five years.
Staff recommends approval of the Public Transportation Grant Agreement amendment to add scope for relocating the drainage retention area.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
