BACKGROUND:

The Ocala Police Department (OPD) began utilizing Cellebrite forensic software in 2015 to process cellular and computer digital forensics, which allows investigators to access data on digital devices to assist in solving crimes. Cellebrite is an industry leader in processing forensics.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Cellebrite software has proven invaluable in many of OPD’s investigations as it allows investigators to extract critical data from digital devices. A one-year renewal of this software is needed to maintain existing product service and support and further investigations.  This renewal is for the period May 1, 2025, through April 30, 2026.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding was approved as part of the Fiscal Year 2025 police department budget, and $86,380 is budgeted in expenditure account 001-018-811-521-52-52050. This purchase will be tracked by Munis contract number OPD/250408.

These goods and services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
