BACKGROUND:
On July 1, 2008, City Council adopted Ordinance 5865, appointing an 11 member board as the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) to recommend monetary and non-monetary incentives for the affordable housing incentive plan as required in Section 420.9076 F.S.
As per Section 106-137(c) of the amending Ordinance 5865, City Council shall appoint members to the committee by resolution.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The State requires an active Affordable Housing Advisory Committee composed of at least eight individuals from various backgrounds. The City's Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is to meet and bring recommendations to the City Council on reducing or eliminating impediments to affordable housing.
The persons named meet the qualifications of the categories set forth in Section 420.9076 F.S.
Staff recommends the appointment of Bridgette Delva and Rhanda Mckown to AHAC terms ending December 31, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The City would be ineligible for potential SHIP funding without the advisory committee.
