BACKGROUND:

City Council previously approved a three-year agreement TEL/17-141 with three, one-year renewals to sell fiber optic connectivity to the School Board of Marion County's metropolitan locations throughout Marion County. The School Board has requested the second one-year renewal option, which includes a 2% reduction of the original contract amount of $1,290,000. The renewal period will begin July 1, 2022, and terminate on June 30, 2023

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

This renewal agreement between Ocala Fiber Network and the School Board of Marion County will continue to provide fiber optic interconnectivity to their schools located throughout Marion County and the School Board's data center. 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The expected gross revenue from this agreement is $103,243.08 per month totaling $1,238,917 over a one-year period. The revenue is included in the FY22-23 budget in account 490-343-000-000-02-34914.

 

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

This renewal has been reviewed and approved for compliance with the City's procurement policies.

LEGAL REVIEW:

This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, Robert W. Batsel. Jr.
