BACKGROUND:
The Code Enforcement Division enforces codes governing zoning, nuisance abatement, contracting and permitting requirements of the City of Ocala and the State of Florida, occupational licenses, sign codes, alcohol location permits, and other local ordinances and state statutes. The Municipal Code Enforcement Board hears cases relating to code violations.
The term of current board members Michael Kroitor and Shirley J. Wright expired on March 1, 2026, and they have applied for reappointment to a new three-year terms ending on March 1, 2029. Over the past year, there have been twelve meetings; of which, Ms. Wright was present for all twelve, and Mr. Kroitor was present at eight, with four absences. There were no other applicants.
