BACKGROUND:
Funding is available through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) from the Airport Rescue Grant Program (ARGP). The U.S. Government has made these funds available to help sponsors of airports offset a decline in revenues arising from diminished airport operations and activities because of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.

Staff has indicated to the FAA the funds will be used to offset operating costs associated with the new General Aviation Terminal Building and Air Traffic Control Tower.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The grant money will be reimbursed to the City as expenses are incurred and there is no match requirement.

BUDGET RESOLUTION 2022-127

A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE GRANT FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $148,000

WHEREAS, on February 1, 2022 the City Council entered into Grant Agreement 3-12-0055-031-2022 with the Federal Aviation Administration for $148,000; and

WHEREAS, there are no matching requirements; and

WHEREAS, the funding will be used for General Aviation Terminal and Air Traffic Control Tower operating expenses.
