BACKGROUND:
The approach end of Runway 36 was recently identified as not meeting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards for a runway safety area due to changes in grade and depressions that exceed FAA design tolerances.
The Airport has been working closely with the FAA to coordinate the design of the regrading, with a grant application submitted in May 2025 and executed in September 2025.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
* The Airport Advisory Board supports this project.
* The project is consistent with the Airport Master Plan.
* A request has been made to the Florida Department of Transportation for a grant to offset the City's matching obligation further.
* Staff recommends approval.

Total Cost: $11,886
