BACKGROUND:
On June 26, 2024, United States District Judge Timothy J. Corrigan entered an Order on pending motions for summary judgement filed on behalf of the Plaintiffs and the City of Ocala.
The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) has served as outside counsel for the City of Ocala in this matter and the staff attorneys who handled this case and, specifically, the motions ruled upon by the Court, are prepared to update City Council on the Order, its implications for the case moving forward, the potential for an appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and/or options related to settlement of the outstanding attorney’s fees matter.
The staff attorneys for ACLJ will appear by electronic means to provide their update and take direction from Council on the next step(s) for this pending litigation.
