BACKGROUND:
On July 16, 2024, the City Council approved Grant Agreement No. 24PLN40 with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for $350,000 to complete the City of Ocala Comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment (VA). The VA will be used in the overall development of the stormwater master plan for the City, identifying areas and subsequent projects that address areas at risk of flooding.
The City of Ocala will complete the VA according to Section 380.093, Florida Statutes, utilizing the services of Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (Kimley-Horn). Kimley-Horn is an awarded engineering firm for continuing professional services with the City of Ocala, Contract ENG/210895, dated September 25, 2022.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Kimley-Horn's engineering staff will collaborate with the City of Ocala Engineering Department to conduct a Vulnerability Assessment according to ? 380.093 F.S. and, as proposed, at a lump sum cost of $463,978.22.
Staff recommends approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This project has a total cost of $463,978.22, and funds are available in Fiscal Year 2024. $350,000 is funded by the grant in account 158-050-388-538-53-31010, and the remaining balance of $113,978.22 is funded by Stormwater Utility Funds in account 158-020-388-538-53-31010.

These services were procured, and Task Work Order reviewed, in compliance with the City's Procurement Policy.
