BACKGROUND:
The Police Trust and Agency Fund was created to deposit revenues received from federal, criminal, administrative, or civil forfeiture proceedings.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The purchase of a dual-purpose K9 will replace a K9 that was recently medically retired. The new dual-purpose K9 will enhance public and police officer safety. Staff recommends approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The transfer of $13,300 to account 610-018-808-521-68-67010 (Collections/Other Fixed Assets) will fund the purchase of a dual-purpose K9.

A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025-26 BUDGET TO TRANSFER FUNDS FROM THE POLICE TRUST AND AGENCY FUND RESERVE FOR THE PURCHASE OF A DUAL-PURPOSE K9 IN THE AMOUNT OF $13,300


WHEREAS, the designated account in the Police Trust and Agency Fund was created to deposit revenues received from federal, criminal, administrative, or civil forfeiture proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the Ocala Police Department requires specialized tools to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and the ability to better serve the community; and
WHEREAS, the utilization of $13,300 in funds will enhance both public and police officer safety through the purchase of a dual-purpose K9.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, duly assembled in regular session, that the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget be amended as outlined below:
