FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) applied for and was awarded an AFG from FEMA for the purchase of automatic chest compression devices. These portable devices perform automated chest compressions, which enables providers to focus on other critical patient needs.
As a condition of the grant the City will be obligated to contribute non-federal funds of at least 10 percent of the amount awarded or $35,757. Acceptance of the grant will allow the purchase of equipment which will assist OFR in saving lives in the community.

Grant funds totaling $357,571 will be expensed to account 001-060-943-522-66-64010, with the City matching at least 10 percent or $35,757. The City’s matching funds are available in account 001-019-943-522-66-64010. There is an accompanying budget resolution on the same Council meeting agenda.
