BACKGROUND:

The Ocala Police Department (OPD) has been utilizing Cellebrite forensic software since its implementation in 2015. This software plays a crucial role in the collection of digital evidence for forensic investigations. It is also one of the tools employed to process search warrants for computers, phones, tablets, and other electronic devices.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Renewing this software will ensure that OPD has current licensing and technical support for the Cellebrite software system. The Cellebrite software ensures that OPD is meeting evidentiary requirements.

 

Staff recommends approval.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this purchase was approved as part of the Police Department Budget, and $56,910 is budgeted in the expenditure account 001-018-811-521-52-52050. This purchase will be tracked by Munis contract number 260398.  The previous renewal of this software was with contract number 25048 in the amount of $86,380.

 

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These goods and services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

 

LEGAL REVIEW:

The City’s standard and approved purchase order terms and conditions shall govern this purchase. Any conflicting terms and conditions offered by the supplier will be reviewed for form and legality by the City Attorney’s office.
