BACKGROUND:

Ascente Aviation (“Ascente”) approached Ocala International Airport (“OIA”) staff to request office space within the general aviation terminal building.  Ascente provides on-demand helicopter charter services.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

This 438-square-foot office space first became available in the summer of 2025.  An appraisal was commissioned, which determined the space's value to be $37.50 per square foot (gross lease).  Securing this lease with Ascente will leave no vacant office space available at OIA. The Airport Advisory Board and Airport staff recommend approval.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Fiscal Year 2025-26 annual revenue is $10,950 in account 451-362-000-000-02-31211.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

This agreement has been reviewed by the Procurement & Contracting Officer in compliance with City policies and procedures.

LEGAL REVIEW:

This lease will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
