BACKGROUND:

Enterprise Car Rental ("Enterprise") has been a long-time tenant on the airport, renting cars from the original terminal building since 2002. A lease agreement was approved in 2019 for Enterprise’s occupancy in the (then new) General Aviation Terminal. This lease included consideration for 365 sq. ft. of office, associated parking lot and a car wash facility. 

 

The renewal term is for three years.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Enterprise is a tenant of the airport since 2002 and is in good standing.  The proposed lease is a gross lease, with utilities, janitorial and maintenance included in the rent. 

 

The lease amendment adds rental counter space previously occupied by Hertz Rental Car, effectively doubling the size of the Enterprise footprint.

 

Enterprise will pay $910 per month for their existing space (rental car office 1), and $887.50 for the new space (rental car office 2) for a total of $1,797.50 per month, (FL sales tax not included). Total sq.ft. will be 719.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

In CY 2022, a 10% fee on the qualified sales provided revenue to the airport of $217,490 in account #451-344-000-000-02-31601.  Enterprise will also pay $21,570 in office rent for 719 sq.ft. in account #451-362-000-000-02-36119.

These services were procured and amendment reviewed in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
