BACKGROUND:
On November 15, 2016, City Council adopted Resolution 2017-13 to establish the new Brownfields Advisory Committee and twelve members were appointed. The board was reduced to nine members in 2022. Staff is proposing that City Council reappoint Ms. Carolyn Adams and Ms. Ruth Reed for respective four-year terms ending on March 1, 2027.
The purpose of the advisory committee is to promote and receive comment on the identification, rehabilitation and redevelopment of brownfields within the city.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
Members of the Brownfields Advisory Committee are members of boards, committees and organizations within Ocala. Brownfields Advisory Committee members shall serve four-year terms and may be reappointed. Both Committee members were first appointed on November 15, 2016. The applications for Ms. Adams and Ms. Reed are attached. Currently, there are nine member positions on the Committee including one vacant position.
