BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Sanitation Division is requesting approval of contract# PWD/211136 utilizing Lewis Steel Works, Inc. to provide front load steel containers (dumpsters). This contract allows us to maintain an inventory of dumpsters to replace damaged or rusted dumpsters that are no longer serviceable, to service special events, and to meet the changing needs of our commercial customers. As dumpsters from inventory are placed in service, Public Works will purchase front load steel dumpsters to re-stock the inventory.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On December 13, 2021, Invitation to Bid # PWD/211136 was released for front load steel containers. Two (2) bids were received with the following results:

 

 

Lewis Steel Works, Inc. was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Staff recommends approval of a contract with Lewis Steel Works, Inc. for a one-year term beginning March 2, 2022 through March 1, 2023, with an optional one-year renewal period.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this contract will be budgeted in account 453-023-325-534-53-52010 for FY22-23 in the amount of $15,400 and in account 453-023-325-534-53-52060 in the amount of $169,600.

 

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

The solicitation has been reviewed and approved for compliance with the City's procurement policies.

 

LEGAL REVIEW:

The agreement has been reviewed and approved for form and legality by the City Attorney, Robert W. Batsel, Jr.
