BACKGROUND:
Ocala Fiber Network (OFN) has procured 40 Gigabits (Gbps) of dedicated internet access (DIA) bandwidth from Lumen/Level 3 Communications LLC. These circuits are essential for maintaining robust interconnectivity and ensuring reliable service delivery to support OFN’s growing customer base.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
To improve the efficiency of monitoring and tracking our DIA circuit expenditures, OFN will consolidate all Lumen/Level 3 Communications LLC payments for these services under a single Munis contract (Contract No. OFN/260023) each fiscal year through 2027. Staff recommends approval and anticipates the City will spend approximately $400,000 on these expenses.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this Munis contract will be paid using account number 490-031-290-539-53-34050-Other Services.
