BACKGROUND:

Staff is requesting approval of an electric easement on City-owned parcel #37517-000-00, the Perry Spray Field (Spray Field). The Spray Field is a ‘reuse site” for the purpose of beneficially recycling reclaimed water produced by the City’s Water Reclamation Facility No. 2, a City-run wastewater treatment facility. The AGRI LAND & CATTLE CO., LLC leases the Spray Field for agricultural, hay production, and grazing operations The proposed Duke Electric Easement supports the installation of power/transformer to service the existing pole barn that the lessee uses.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

AGRI LAND & CATTLE CO., LLC has a ten-year lease with two five-year renewal options. The lease generates $62,000 in rental fees annually. Staff has reviewed and approved the proposed easement to power the pole barn onsite. Staff recommends approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding from rental fees will be appropriated into account string 455-362-000-000-02-36201.
