BACKGROUND:
* Petitioner and Property Owner: City of Ocala
* Subject Properties: 25768-000-00 (8.10 acres), 25775+000-00 (1.24 acres), 25784+000-00 (0.08 acres), and 25785-000-00 (0.52 acres), comprising a total of approximately 9.94 acres.
Key Points:
This is a city staff-initiated request to rezone the subject property from R-2, Two-Family Residential, to G-U, Governmental Use.
In reviewing city owned properties future land use and zoning, staff identified the four non-contiguous subject properties mostly surrounded by other city owned properties. These properties do not have the correct future land use and zoning to be consistent with the other city owned properties in this area. This petition provides the appropriate Governmental Use (G-U) zoning district, consistent with municipal uses and furthers the city's ability to provide for, or enhance, city services and infrastructure in this area of the city.
