BACKGROUND:
The Public Transportation Grant Agreement, dated January 31, 2023, originally funded the design and construction of the North Development Access Road and is scheduled to expire on June 1, 2026. The project was completed on time and under budget, with more than $500,000 remaining in the grant.
The City is proposing a scope amendment to allow the remaining funds to be used for the design and construction of a Florida Department of Transportation drainage retention pond. The pond must be relocated to facilitate the future extension of the North Development Access Road.
This amendment extends the grant's expiration date to June 1, 2028, allowing it to remain active through the anticipated construction time frame.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The original grant included a three-year project time frame. This amendment extends the expiration date to June 1, 2028. Construction, assuming the project is funded, is anticipated to be completed in 2027. The Airport Advisory Board supports the project.
Staff recommends approval of the grant extension and associated scope amendment.
