BACKGROUND:
After a competitive solicitation, City Council awarded the contract for grounds maintenance services at parks and other facilities managed by the Recreation and Parks Department to Southern Lawn Care Mid Florida, Inc. (Southern Lawn Care), Contract No. REC/230068. The agreement was for an initial term of three years, from March 8, 2023, through March 7, 2026, and offered two optional one-year renewal terms.
* On July 5, 2023, the City and Southern Lawn Care entered into a First Amendment to the agreement to modify the locations to be maintained.
* On October 26, 2023, the locations were again modified pursuant to the parties' Second Amendment.
* On January 2, 2025, the parties entered into a Third Amendment to include additional locations, adjust mowing frequencies, and increase the aggregate expenditure amount under the contract to $690,600.
* On February 3, 2025, the parties entered into a Fourth Amendment to add additional locations and increase the expenditure threshold to $698,000.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The Recreation and Parks Department now wishes to exercise the first of two available renewal terms under the agreement and extend the contract term through March 6, 2027. Southern Lawn Car has met all the requirements for the provision of ground maintenance services under the initial contract term.
Staff recommends approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
