BACKGROUND:
Section 2-252(c), Code of Ordinances, City of Ocala, Florida, provides that the City Attorney may request that an individual be appointed as the Assistant City Attorney and that, upon approval of such request by the City Council, such person shall serve in that capacity. Additionally, Section 2-252(d), Code of Ordinances Code of Ordinances, City of Ocala, Florida, provides that the compensation to be paid to the Assistant City Attorney shall be established by the City Council.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The duties of the City Attorney are such that it is advisable to appoint an Assistant City Attorney.
Dana Dammar is qualified to fill the position of Assistant City Attorney for the City of Ocala, Florida.
It is necessary and appropriate to compensate Ms. Dammar in the amount of $80,600.00 per year for her services as an Assistant City Attorney.
The appointment of Dana Dammar as Assistant City Attorney and her compensation as set forth herein is in the best interest of the City of Ocala, Florida.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$80,600.00 salary per year plus the additional cost of the standard benefit package afforded all other employees of the City of Ocala, Florida is available in account 001-012-217-514-51.
