BACKGROUND:
On December 17, 2021, the Ocala Police Department received a donation from a citizen, who wishes to remain anonymous, in the amount of $35,000 to purchase a new K-9 and any K-9 related expenses.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The utilization of this donation will enhance the K-9 police unit to serve the citizens of the City of Ocala and Marion County.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The designated gift account in the Police Trust Fund was created to deposit revenues received as a result of community donations

AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE A DESIGNATED COMMUNITY DONATION TO PURCHASE A K-9 AND ASSOCIATED EXPENSES IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,000

WHEREAS, the designated gift account in the Police Trust Fund was created to deposit revenues received as a result of community donations; and
WHEREAS, on December 17, 2021, the Ocala Police Department received a donation from a citizen in the amount of $35,000 to purchase a new K-9 and any K-9 related expenses; and
WHEREAS, the utilization of this donation will enhance the K-9 police unit to serve the citizens of the City of Ocala and Marion County.
