BACKGROUND:
The Florida Department of Revenue's Truth In Millage (TRIM) process establishes statutory requirements that must be followed by taxing authorities levying a millage. Failure to meet TRIM requirements will result in the loss of state revenue sharing funds.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The Office of Budget and Management prepares an annual budget calendar as a tool to produce a balanced budget and comply with TRIM requirements. The proposed Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget calendar includes dates for public hearings, events and deadlines for City departments, and statutory requirements. The milestones detailed on the attached calendar serve as a means of preparing a budget that conforms with Council direction and complies with TRIM requirements.
