body

BACKGROUND:

On 7/5/2022 Council approved a sales contract with Boyd-Mox Development LLC to purchase a seven-acre parcel of land on the southeast corner of the airport to support their commercial and industrial development.

Due to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) grant assurances, this property sale requires approval through each agency.  Staff submitted the approval request to both the FAA and FDOT however due to a protracted review process by the FAA, the purchase contract requires an extension.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

The sale is consistent with the Airport Master Plan.

Requires FAA and FDOT approvals.

FISCAL IMPACT:

An appraisal dated May 5, 2022, establishes the sale price of $700,000.  All the proceeds from this sale will be applied to Airport Sale of Assets account 451-364-000-000-16-36449.  When the transaction is complete, a budget resolution will be presented to Council to appropriate the revenue.

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

This Amendment has been reviewed in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

LEGAL REVIEW:

This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
