BACKGROUND:

The Ocala Fiber Network (OFN) Administration Building requires remodeling improvements to provide a more functional, efficient, and suitable workspace for OFN operations. The improvements are necessitated by growth in this department as well as upgrades required for a 37 year old building.

 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

On June 1, 2026, the City released Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. FAC/260769 for construction services for the Ocala Fiber Network administration building.  Five competitive bids were received, and Master Builders Development Group, Inc. was determined to be the lowest and most responsive bidder.

The proposed project will include construction and renovation services necessary to complete the remodel, including associated demolition, modifications, finishes, and building improvements as required.

Staff recommends approval.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for this project is available in account 490-031-601-539-53-46010 (OFN Facilities CIP).

 

PROCUREMENT REVIEW:

These services were procured in compliance with the City’s procurement policy. 

 

LEGAL REVIEW:

This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
