BACKGROUND:
On or about January 6, 2023, the City’s Community Development Services (CDS) Department received a request for assistance with housing rehabilitation from an extremely low-income family. CDS conducted a structural evaluation of the home and determined that to bring the home to current building standards the roof needs to be replaced, mold remediated, HVAC system and attic insulation replaced, master bath and half bath remodeled, electrical upgraded, extensive exterior and interior repairs made, as well as exterior and interior painting done.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
On March 22, 2024, the City issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. CDS/240558 for residential rehabilitation services for the Williams property. Responses were received from two contractors. Bruce Wayne Wiley, LLC, of Fernandina Beach, Florida was found to be the lowest responsive bidder, with a bid of $168,142. This project will be funded by the City’s Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) Grant. Staff recommends approval.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $168,142 is available in HOME account 001-050-501-554-55-34010.
PROCUREMENT REVIEW:
These services were procured in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.
LEGAL REVIEW:
This Agreement will be reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
