BACKGROUND:
The City of Ocala, as part of the Marion County Joint Office on Homelessness, provides outreach and referral services to homeless individuals and families throughout Marion County. The City is also the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) lead agency for the Marion County Continuum of Care (CoC) and provides Coordinated Entry for the community organizations that provide homeless services in the County.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
The Marion County CoC has awarded the City of Ocala $52,000 in grant funding from its annual allocation. The award is to be used for expenses related to providing referral and coordinated entry services. Staff recommends approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The City will receive the Challenge grant funds to support the City's Office of Homeless Prevention's HMIS Program. No City match is required for this grant. The $52,000 will be located in account strings 001-050-275-554*.
