BACKGROUND:
The existing knock-down textured pool deck at the Hampton Aquatic Center was installed in 2020 and is showing signs of deterioration, including cracking, peeling, and crumbling in multiple areas. Resurfacing is necessary to maintain safety, functionality, and aesthetics.
Earlier this year, RenoSys Corp’s RecDeck PVC resurfacing system was competitively selected for the City’s Jervey Gantt Aquatic Center. The project was completed in May 2026, allowing staff to evaluate the product’s performance at a City aquatic facility of comparable scale and use.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
On August 12, 2026, Procurement staff approved the standardization of RenoSys Corp.’s RecDeck PVC pool-deck surfacing system based on consistency, maintenance advantages, and operational requirements.
The proposed project includes resurfacing approximately 16,570 square feet of decking at the Hampton Aquatic Center, encompassing the pool deck, breezeway, and restroom flooring, as well as approximately 167 linear feet of deck drain grates. The work will utilize a commercial-grade, slip-resistant PVC surfacing system. The pool basin is excluded from the scope of work.
The proposal includes a five-year structural warranty covering the membrane and welds and a one-year warranty on caulk, fasteners, and similar items.
All work and materials will comply with Florida Department of Health Standards for Swimming Pools and Spas, Florida Administrative Code paragraphs 64E-9.005(2)(a) through (g) and 64E-9.006(2)(a).
