BACKGROUND:

In the School Resource Officer (SRO) Program, the SRO works closely with school administration and staff to develop plans and strategies to prevent and/or minimize dangerous situations that may result in student unrest. They make referrals to community agencies for students and staff and provide educational counseling and law enforcement as needed and warranted.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Trinity Catholic High School, located at 2600 SW 42nd Street, Ocala, has requested the continued assignment of one regularly employed Ocala police officer to create and maintain a safe, secure, and orderly learning environment for students, teachers, and staff.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Trinity Catholic High School agrees to reimburse the City of Ocala Police Department an aggregate of $320,436 for three years from August 1, 2025, through July 31, 2028. Revenue will be applied to account number 001-342-000-000-02-34215. Monthly payments in the amount of $8,901 will be made for thirty-six months beginning July 1, 2025.

This agreement has been reviewed in compliance with the City’s Procurement Policy.

This Agreement has been reviewed and approved for form and legality by City Attorney, William E. Sexton.
