BACKGROUND:
Construction of the north T-hangar access road will provide development opportunities to include T-hangars, private hangars, and other businesses.
On January 17, 2023, City Council adopted a resolution authorization entering into Public Transportation Grant Agreement (PTGA) 449858-1-94-01 with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for $1,500,000 with a match of $375,000.
This amendment increases the total project cost to $2,500,000. The City’s share of this amendment is $125,000.
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:
FDOT has provided funding to complete the project, which was previously approved by City Council, for the design and construction of the north T-hangar access road.

BUDGET RESOLUTION 2023-138
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023 BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE $500,000 IN ADDITIONAL GRANT FUNDING FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND TRANSFER AN ADDITIONAL $125,000 FROM THE AIRPORT RESERVE FOR CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT TO DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT THE NORTH T-HANGAR ACCESS ROAD FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $625,000
WHEREAS, the City of Ocala desires to construct a road to accommodate growth at the airport; and
WHEREAS, on January 17, 2023, the City of Ocala executed Resolution 2023-11, authorizing entering PTGA #449858-1-94-01 with the Florida Department of Transportation for design and construction of the north T-hangar access road; and
WHEREAS, the FDOT has appropriated additional funds through an amendment, in the amount of $500,000; and
WHEREAS, under this amendment the City’s matching obligation is $125,000.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, duly assembled in regular session, that the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget be amended as outlined below to appropriate funding as follows:
