FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

Staff recommends replacing vehicles 04-019, 04-026, 04-102, and 04-941 to support the Ocala Police Department’s critical operations.  Insurance proceeds will be utilized to facilitate the purchase from Alan Jay Fleet Sales under Sourcewell Contract No. 2026 091521-NAF.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The combined replacement cost is $226,495.  The City’s General Liability fund (626-099-999-590-81-45020) will pay $92,444.  The remaining $134,051 will be paid from the Ocala Police Department’s Machinery and Equipment account (001-018-602-521-66-64010) and is available in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget.

BUDGET RESOLUTION 2026-135

 

A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2025-26 BUDGET TO SUPPORT THE REPLACEMENT OF FOUR VEHICLES APPRAISED AT A TOTAL LOSS AND TRANSFER FUNDS FROM THE GENERAL LIABILITY CLAIMS FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $92,444

 

 

WHEREAS, city vehicles 04-019, 04-026, 04-102, and 04-941 were involved in major collisions, resulting in the vehicles being appraised as a total loss; and

WHEREAS, the total replacement cost of the four vehicles is $226,495; and

WHEREAS, the General Liability Claims Fund will cover $92,444 for the replacements; and

WHEREAS, the remaining $134,051 will be paid from the Ocala Police Department Machinery and Equipment account; and

WHEREAS, the purchase will be made under Sourcewell Contract No. 2026 091521-NAF pricing.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCALA, FLORIDA, duly assembled in regular session, that the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget be amended as outlined below:
